Coupons

I never really considered myself a coupon-clipping kind of gal. However, in light of my desire to trim a few extra dollars off our grocery bill I decided to give it a try. In my spare time I’ve taken to scouring the internet in search of printable coupons for some of our regularly purchased items. Today I bought some groceries at Target instead of Walmart or Meijer. My savings are as follows: Ghiradelli Chocolate Chips - $2.99 + $0.75 off coupon = 2.24 10 oz Kashi cereal - $3.74 + buy one 10 oz cereal get 16 oz ($3.84) free = $3.74 + $1.00 off any Kashi cereal = 2 boxes of cereal for $2.74 Kashi 8-pouch hot cereal - $2.89 + $0.50 off coupon = $2.39
= $7.37 ($13.46 - $6.09 = $7.37) I was pretty impressed. It took me a grand total of ten minutes to find the coupons online that I was looking for and it saved me $6. Thank you, Target!
So if any of you out there are trying to save a buck, start surfing the ‘Net and give it a shot! Anybody have any good money-saving or budget-cutting tips to share?

I've been trying to cut back on our grocery bill as well.. I haven't gotten into coupon cutting (I can't print stuff offline) yet, but I'm trying to get into it. You can save so much that way! ;) One of my favorite sites for this is http://www.moneysavingmom.com/money_saving_mom/ ;)

Wow, I've never used coupons, just because I'm too lazy to look for them, quite frankly! lol...but seeing how much you saved has inspired me to start searching :-)

Only buy what you need! :) A lot of penny pinchers have the mind-set of if it's a good bargain, then it's a good buy. Uhhhh... NO. The more you own, the more that owns you and takes your time and consideration... and if you're like me--PRECIOUS SPACE!!! :) If you don't need it, don't buy it.

This doesn't necessarily apply to groceries though... Except for if you're a household of 1. Gosh, nothing gets ate around here... I need my man home to de-stock the pantry! :)
